The Drum Is the Heart of Ritual

To beat a drum, to establish a rhythm, is to change our relationship with the great rhyth of all things. So when the rhythms of our lives feel off, to return to that primordial heart beat re establishes us in context, re connects us. This is the heart of ritual and is also why drums can be found in so many rituals. The drum sets things in order, and in doing so, it transports us home.
