Al Qaeda's Plan for September 11
Ramsey Youssef and his uncle Khalid Sheikh Mohammed were involved in a plot to blow up as many as 12 airliners over the Pacific. The original idea for September 11 was to hijack 10 planes, crash nine of them into targets like the World Trade Center or nuclear power plants. 9-11 Commission found that Al Qaeda couldn't recruit enough hijackers so they scaled down their plans.
