Horrific History & Hauntings

00:00

Introduction

Pervelia is an island right off of Venice, Italy. It's about 17 to 18 acres and it is divided by a canal which is linked together with a bridge. The island is mostly known for its use during the bubonic plague outbreak to quarantine the eel and to dispose the dead from Venice. There was also a mental hospital on it, which was used to treat, in quotations, the mentally ill by performing various inhumane experiments. Some people that go there just long enough to pick the grapes from the many vines that are still growing there. They say it is haunted but no one goes near it because they're afraid of getting caught in their fishing nets.
