In 2018 I heard Dan Bader was on the Think It Was the Python Bites podcast where he announced that he had kind of taken over the real Python website. In one of his newsletters essentially said, do you want to write for us? Send me a note. And I did send a quick note and got an answer and essentially got what we typically do with people coming in as authors: just giving them a trial article to write. So I picked an article about Pathlib, which is this very nice library for working with paths.
