What Happened to the Native Americans?

In many parts of the United States, they definitely tried to hold the Indians as slaves too. Certainly, that was true in California, even before the, the English came or the people from the East Coast. Oh, in California, I'm not the historian you are, but there was a genocide against Native Americans in the 19th century in California. They were exterminated and part of the whole gold rush and everything. It's astoundingly well documented.
