The Jewish Philosopher Philo of Alexandria
In the writings of Jewish intellectuals like Philo and Josephus, we begin to see a comfortable worldliness. The idea that one religion will devour all others is a familiar one from Christianity and Islam. But this was a notion that appeared definitively on the historical record only in the New Testament.
