The Importance of Frames in the Lord of the Rings
Tolkien is very conscious of giving you frames by which to find yourself in the story. There's nested frames and the invitation to participate in it yourself as the characters, themselves find out that they're doing. And I mean, people who enjoy rereading the Lord of the Rings, you're constantly finding yourself yet again in that story.
