Miles Davis and Miles's Ivy
More than anyone, it was Miles Davis who made Ivy look so cool. In his Ivy period, he's wearing like an Oxford shirt, unbuttoned, sleeves rolled up,. thrown on like a college student, but with sunglasses. On the cover of his live album at Newport in 1958, he's wore a seer sucker suit with shades on. He's sort of like rocking these dorky clothes and they'd always been Miles's style.
