The History of Measles
The history of measles in the New World reads pretty much like you would expect it to. The conquistador Francisco Pizarro brings it to Nicaragua and then to Peru as he's on his mission to destroy the Incan Empire. It just sort of spreads all throughout South America completely unimpeded by anyone or anything. And it also moves north, all within a century or so from when Columbus landed.
