The Bloke Who Made It All the Way to the North Pole

In 1907, Cook announced an attempt to reach the North Pole. He took two Inuit men with him and he departed from Greenland in February 1908. 14 months later, the three men returned and Cook claimed to have reached the pole. But this claim was disputed principally by a bloke named Robert Peery. The photographs that he apparently had taken of himself at the summit were later proven to be taken 30 kilometers away on an outcropping of rock now known as fake peak.
