Even the merith honors those people who whose primary goal is to become a faster marathon. But i think there's so much value in taking time away from the marathon, maybe only doing one per year. You can have two other seasons throughout the year where you're focused on middle distance events. The longer you go, there is yet less muscl muscular activation going on. So there is more reliance on your passive structures and ligaments.
