Urus Khan - The Blue Hoard

One of the earliest figures to seize the vacant throne was kara noga a toka tamurid. His reign was brief, but after some years of conflict, members of his family continued to claim the throne. The most notable othese was urus khan, whose reign is usually dated to begin 13 68. Some historians suggest that urus should be identified with alash khan, the legendary founder of the cosaks, from whom all khans were descended. Descent from urus, in effect, became a new form of legitimacy.
