The Dollar Reserve Currency and the Dollar's Future
The petrodollar, the fact that oil has only been purchasable in dollars, has kept the dollar stable now for 40, 50 years. I mean, it's basically the main basis for the dollar, not that we've alienated Saudi Arabia,. We've alienated Russia, which is the other big oil producer, we've alienated Iran. The Saudis obviously have tremendous wealth in the banking system. They're worried about it as well. It really might happen at any point next year or two.
