Make sure you start giving feedback early on. Don't be afraid to say that you may be overwhelmed, or that you feel like the work load is too much. Be confident, show what you can do, but do not overwork yourself. You need to ablish those boundaries early on as well. Share loads and loads and loads with your manager so they can understand your pain points.
