What's the Problem With the Lizard Brain?

Most people spend a lot of their time solving problems that don't exist. It's mostly like a self defence mechanism where looking directly at the problem makes things binary, because you either solved it or you didn't. And so when you focus on the actual problem, you can get the most bang for your buck and it makes all the other decisions basically irrelevant. The only suggestion i can give is this exercise that we'd do at sizy, where we ask, what's the problem over and over again? Togetti, a couple layers deep.
