Abraham Shakespeare had no bank account, credit card or savings. He was earning just $8 an hour as a truck driver's assistant for a food distribution company. Despite his best efforts, he'd fallen behind on paying child support for his five-year-old son. His biggest indulgence was a million dollar home north of the city in an upscale gated community.
