I'm in a Strange Man's Car

As an adult, i was often mistaken as an adult who may not have been hitch hiking. A car pulls off the road in front of me and a man asks if I need a ride. He doesn't ask me anything about myself or why i was on the side of the road. After what felt like an eternity, but was probably only five or ten minutes, the silence had become incredibly awkward. And i tried to fill it by asking him questions to which i'm getting non committal answers, or no answers at all.
