Italian iridentism was all of the rage in nationalist circles when stepacus took over. Italy's economy wasn't floating as fascious economies generally do. Most eridentists claimed places that had an ethically italian population for the new unified kingdom of italy. Not having an education in history, or not giving a fuck is never stopped et mucas the iridentists really cared about getting the facts right.
