The First Large Peasant Uprising in Russia

The suppression of the peasants was carried out with swift and merciless brutality. The red forces did not discern much between active combatant rebels and people who were simply caught in the middle. By the end of march 19 19, they had stamped out the last pockets of resistance. Its estimated the final death toll was somewhere around ten thousand people.
