Toddlers don't hit or bite to hurt the other child, they're doing it mostly as an act of communication or testing a limit. So if i hit someone, what happens? You know, and that's how children figure out, because they can't verbally say,. so they hit, and then they wait for our response. If they hit someone and we're giving them all the attention, then it's like, oh, well, if i hit some one, the coal comes and hangs out with me.
