Twitter has a programme called bird watch. A whereyet i had never heard of this, which says a lot about twitters moderation methods. The volunteers do not get to remove or edit posts which are considered to be harmful - but they can attach notes. Not all of those notes even appear attached to the tweets and you have to go to the bird watch web site to see them. So basically it is effectively zero moderation, a, and just a little bit of footnoting. Half of all us users will now be able to, i believe, view, not write, a bird watch comments. It's the most gingerly approach possible. I don't kno what to think of
