The Effects of the Solar Wind on the Earth

The Earth has a magnetic field. And that magnetic field protects us from the effects of the solar wind. Because the solar wind is magnetized, it forms a sort of shock at the front of the Earth. It acts as like a blanket protecting us - and we're very lucky.
