I think the journey of how he arrived at these revelations is maybe less important than execution of the revelations in some ways. By this time, it had been so many decades of sort of like forced and taken for granted religion that it felt confining and punitive. And that's why all these young people broke free from it. I feel like we're so far past that now that being religious is almost in popular culture, quaint.
