John: I was excommunicated from the church in 19 86. Because my marital status with him is unlikely to change any time soon, there's no possibility for me to be a member of the church. My ward sort of embraces me as if i'm a member, and some of my ward members get fisty and angry if you dare to call me not member. They're very protective of me. And i've been active since then, as active as an excommunicated person can be.
