The Stanford Tree
The Stanford tree is considered a position of honor to be inside the bear skin. In 1996, cow fans chased the tree off of the field at the end of the big game. Since then, it has not been seen on the field for the fourth quarter of any big game. The Phoenix five are students from Berkeley who created their own subgroup called the Phoenix five.
