When Charles venable took over the indianapolis museum of art, it had 55 thousand objects. Venable and his curators at newfields began combing through every one of the objects in the museum's collection. They assigned each art work a grade for something that any museum in the world would want. Thes were things that made sense for indianapolis to have collection. Seas were e ds didn't belong at all. It took years to figure out the bees and seas. Our collection is now about forty four thousand works of art,. down from 55, 55000, but venables still not finished.
