Is Pelopson Really a Prothetic Shoulder?
Pelops is a greek mythological figure. He was tilledd dismembered and put into a stew, which the gods didn't want to eat. But because demeter was so distracted by the fact that her daughter had been abducted she ate pelop's shoulder blade. And when the gods found out about this they reconstructed him with an ivory shoulder instead of his real one. So we can perhaps see the ancient myths influencing and inspiring people.
