The History of the Solar System Model
The observatory finished construction and was opened on October 5th 1990. A new motorized dome system was installed on May 14th 1992. Exactly five years later upgraded the telescope to a computerized control system. The solar system model is on top of a pedestal where there are nine planets suspended despite Pluto recently being demoted to dwarf planet status. We have no idea who held the first club meeting or when but it was between 1992 and 2007.
