When I got my degree in linguistics and undergrad I kind of just thought like well that was like a fun useless thing that I studied. The most interesting parts of human nature to me have always been the language as well. My whole sort of crusade is to take linguistics from the high pedestal of academia and make it really accessible and fun and not that serious while also being reverent and well researched for general readers. Well also language is the guardian of the gates right if you can develop a sensitivity to how language is being used.
