The Burden of Representation in Children's Literature
I want my daughter to experience the world of being Chinese is just being normal. I'm not as this exotic thing and I don't think we're quite there yet, at least in the world of children's literature. It's also impossible to find Asian dolls really elusive. There's a lot of seething glances, especially between the second wife and fourth wife between the mothers and daughters. And like so much like there's almost no dialogue and it's just like the most potent scene. To me, what felt so true and also just so so Chinese and probably true of like many Asian cultures is so much is conveyed with just a glance.
