I go with a gut test. I'll just plug that keyword straight into Google in an incognito browser and feel things out myself. So then I get a few and generally, as you build your site out more and more, you have a feel for like where you're reasonably going to rank. And then depending on the product or brand itself, then I can at least start to guesstimate how many page views and how much affiliate revenue might come from that. It's just a guessing game. You never know. I have beaten PCMag and insider and big, big websites before, but I don't know why.
