The Importance of Predicting What Other People Are Saying
Research from the nine Megan folks, we've seen them in this lab that there's evidence to show that the time it takes for someone to plan an utterance is such that the dialogue material they have must mean that people are actually starting to plan their utterance before the other person has stopped speaking. We're sort of like running like little predictions in our head of like, what could they be saying next to filling gaps? So yeah, it's really a back and forth. And unfortunately, I mean, again, as mentioned earlier, that oftentimes languages has been treating like monologue rather than dialogue.
