Analytic Statements Have a Certainty About Them
analytic statements have a certainty about them because they don't contain any matters of fact. Take two plus two equals four, you are not told anything as to the composition of the world from such a statement. Art has no bearing whatever on the validity of the statement. These are definitional statements. Synthetic statements are sertions as to what the world consists of. And it therefore comes out that four will be defined as the sum of two twos or four unities.
