Joel says he uses every component of each animal to create an optimal environment for both the plants and the animals. He puts woodchips over manure so that it acts as a natural heater in the winter. The trees are part of this too, because they reduce wind erosion of the grass on his farm land. Instead of using pesticides, your birds will just eat insects for you.
