The War in the Confederate Army
In diaries, soldiers complain that they haven't been paid years. One guy from connecticut says he almost rebelled when theya starting on the march down to new yorktown. The armies were mostly serving without pay well, and that's why there were so many desertions. I just try to put myself back there in any of these people's shoes. And i can't imagine, i want to go back to the wealthy guys had the war gone a different way.
