Bart Barber has preached every Sunday for 23 years at the First Baptist Church in Farmersville, Texas. He was elected SBC president in June just four weeks after an independent investigation revealed that some former members of the executive committee ignored hundreds of credible accusations of sexual abuse. "I felt like God was calling me to try to give leadership at this moment," he says.
