The writers got in this big fight with the talent agencies a few years ago over something called packaging, right? Talent agencies would put together different pieces of a project, a writer, a director, an actor for a TV show. And instead of taking commission from all of those different individuals, they basically take a share of the profits from the show. This has been very lucrative for talent agencies and writers decided that it meant that agencies weren't acting in their interests because they were acting in their own interests.
