The Synergy Between Machine Learning and Big Data
Sally Kohn: I know you've been using machine learning in your work, and that's actually a little bit surprising to me because this sounds so kind of down home and simple. Well, it turns out there's actually really a synergy. A lot of the work that I do is actually really small data, like, like case studies of 10 or 12 somethings and then seeing what’s going on. So I would, on the one hand, get the sense of the problem and the mechanisms and maybe the different pathways. And on the other hand, I could use the big data with what I found out in the field about mechanisms or different kinds of people.
