The Importance of Algorithms
David Deutsch has said that a universal explainer can't be programmed. He says the relevant attributes of an AI program do not consist of relationships between inputs and outputs. If I go and I play Skyrim, nobody doubts that's an algorithm. There's no ultimate output that needs to come out of playing Skyrim. That's just not how the game works.
