Voltaire's Disagreement of Metaphysics
Voltaire was an anti-authoritarian liberal. He rejected metaphysics as being more or less a waste of time. His big objections to Descartes and Leibniz were to the intellectual climate that they were creating in France at the time. The French Revolution considered Voltaire one of their main influences.
