Marx's New Doctrine of the Party

Marx had visualized the Communist Party as a loosely structured democratic organization. Such a party, however, he said, will never lead the workers to revolution because there is no guarantee that the party of the workers will have any higher understanding or any greater will than the workers themselves have. If you are unable to adapt yourself, if you are unwilling to crawl on your belly through the mud, you are not a revolutionary but a cheddar box. Those who do not understand this reveal a failure to understand even the smallest grain of Marxism.
