The Siddhantan and the Vedanta Sutra

The position of the Siddhantan thus coincides with that of the Mimamsa sutra itself. Jaimini's sutra founds what is called pryar, or purva Mimamsa, whereas the Vedanta can also be called posterior, or utara Mimamsa. In both cases the school is staging an inquiry into the underlying principles of the relevant texts.
