When i was a i graduate syc program in the late seventies, nobody was talking about this. And that now it's gone quite swas just looking at the list of my guests that have discussed this subject on the show. People are willing to plunk down 20 bucks to read a book about consciousness. I feel very lucky to have grown up at a time why consciousness was back on the menu in academic ments of psychology an neuro science. But because it's hard to study, we can't study consciousness objectively in the same way we can study other things about brains and bodies. It faded out of the spotlight,. which is why there were pockets of really good work going on throughout
