The Importance of Sameness and Friendship
In true friendship, because the other person loves or appreciates something, you can love it by that very fact. I really like hiking; my wife doesn't so much like hiking. That's an important sameness that has just come about there and there's something very beautiful about that. Friendship is rooted in sameness, it seeks sameness in big and liberal things. But we need to make one more point where there is difference, in any case difference that should remain.
