What Are the Types of Private Revelation?

In scripture you have private revelations, but because they're in scripture, they're public revelation. If I think God has said something, I must accept it as true or I'll be sending against what I should hold up as the authority of God. But that would not be binding on other people in the same way. And so at this point, it might be helpful to talk about some of the terms and the types of private revelation how God speaks with people. That's when there is an appearance of an angel, that theophany is the appearance of God himself for example.
