It's thought that there are these specialized stem cells in the brain that have the ability to remake new neurons. So is regeneration the same no matter what kind of part of the body is being regenerated? It's different cells but it's the same thing. And then in some wacky way they all those cells have to work together, right? Because the final product is something that looks almost like the original.
