The Biggest Privilege of All Monopoly
There's a school of thought that high prices, monopoly prices, are not in and of themselves a problem. But if you're acknowledging that a company is charging monopoly prices, doesn't it also follow that there is under consumption? I mean, those two things go hand in hand. And so yes, it does, but is case by case. The way people sell the monopolies is that because you have some extra profits, you're going to do more investment. So long term, the efficiency is going to be higher.
