Your brain is kind of like the financial office of your body. While it's creating thoughts and feelings and perceptions, it's also managing your body's budget for all of these systems. So if your brain is going to stand you up, it has to increase your blood pressure before you stand up or you'll faint. And that's one of the things that your brain is doing and it's doing it predictably.
