When someone is angry, you don't apologize. You do not try to explain. Angry people need safety. And if you start to appease or rationalize or explain, you come across this week, which makes the angry person feel unsafe. That's a cultural thing taught in childhood that serves us well in childhood, but does not serve as well as adults. So we have to deprogramm ourselves from this childhood programming.
