The Surprising Results of the Scaling Hypothesis

The biggest disparity between what people actually answered and what they predicted the answers would be came on the second section about scale where we asked about the scaling hypothesis. Only 17% of the respondents agreed with that, which tells us that this scaling narrative is maybe less held by the respondent population who we got for the survey. Maybe the level of hype that it gets on social media is disproportionate to the level of credence that NLP researchers have in the idea.
